Internationally Recognized Assessment

The factory of Hong Kong Gourmet was awarded the certificates of registration of "ISO 22000:2018 & HACCP Food Safety Management Systems", which issued by British Standards Institution (BSI). The certificates proved that our food quality and production equipment had reached the internationally recognized level, and certify our well management on food safety, quality monitoring, talent training, hazard analysis, etc.

"ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System" is the global recognized standard, which is approved by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. Under the system, the food production factory need to monitor the entire food supply chain to ensure the food safety and hygiene standards during the cooking process, including tracking food sources, monitoring ingredients quality and providing staff training on food hygiene, for the aim to minimize the risks of food borne illnesses and cross contamination.

"ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System" encompasses a number of internationally recognized food safety principles such as HACCP, the international code of practice on principles of food hygiene, and quality management systems, which aims to achieve continual improvement as well as fully implement the management system.

Hygiene of Factory

We have strict guidelines on factory operation and personal hygiene, as well as standardize the whole food production procedure, including:

  • Establish production procedures, storage method and storage temperature for all kinds of food
  • Set standard for factory cleaning and disinfection, and let our staff to implement strictly
  • Send personnel to check the environment and condition of factory regularly, to check the quality of air and water
  • Employ a professional pest control company to spray insecticides regularly to eliminate pests

Professional Equipment

There are some professional hardware to support the daily operation in factory, including:

  • Use the flow of one-way forward production to produce food, from production to delivery, so as to avoid cross contamination in the whole production process, which meets the international standard
  • Adopt large-scale and high-tech automatic production equipment that imported from foreign countries, such as large-scale automatic cooking machine that made in Japan, electric conveyor oven, large-scale electric pot and spiral mixer that made in Italy, etc
  • All food ingredients are cooked and processed by machines without touching by hands, to ensure food quality and safety
  • The foods are cooked with high temperature and the heat is even, for retaining the original flavor of foods and reducing greasiness, so we can make the foods to be healthy and delicious

Strict Selection of Suppliers

In order to meet the standard of ISO 22000 certification, our professional purchasing team:

  • Search for qualified food suppliers around the world to provide customers with safe food ingredients
  • The suppliers are required to provide the source of food ingredients and relevant safety certificates, and the meat products must be provided with the hygiene certificate that issued by the origin(s), to ensure that the safety and quality of food ingredients have been monitored
  • Submit all the food ingredients that provided by suppliers to the internal quality control departments for inspection, sampling for microbiological and chemical tests

Staff Training

We regularly provide training courses on food safety, occupational safety and sustainability to all staff, so that they can understand the company guidelines on operation and production, as well as the matters they need to pay attention during work. We target to achieve strict supervision on food quality and ensure the safety of staff at the same time. Relevant training courses include:

  • Arrange training courses in accordance with the "Nutritional Guidelines on Lunch of Students" of the Department of Health to ensure that the prepared menu, food procurement and production process meet the requirements of the guidelines
  • Arrange sessions for introducing vegetarian nutrition and corresponding work training on "Super Green Monday"
  • Arrange sessions for introducing salt reduction information and corresponding work training on "Salt Reduction Scheme for School Lunches"
  • According to the company policies and initiatives on sustainability, we arrange relevant introductory sessions and corresponding training courses, including the procedures and matters that need to pay attention on all recycling works
  • Cooperate with the Occupational Safety & Health Council to hold regular occupational safety and health training courses to improve staff awareness of work safety
